How we work – Prevention

Early Intervention
It is important that programmes to help vulnerable children are staffed by people with the sensitivity and skills to encourage and support the most excluded children and families, helping them to sustain their participation.
The community groups who are best placed and/or most interested in creating change are provided with targeted training. Teachers are taught, for instance, how to identify children at greatest risk of family violence and to understand behaviours symptomatic of maltreatment.
